Hail Repair You Can Trust

Garry Beckett, the owner of American PDR, Inc, began his path in the automotive industry while still in high school working part-time, then full time for a local body shop. This local body shop was then absorbed by a major dealership, in the neighboring town, that offered 5 major brands of vehicles. While in his 24 year career at this dealership, he received training through GM and ICAR and obtained the level of ASE Master Body Technician.

After receiving this training, he was introduced to paintless dent repair while still at the dealership. He was trained by David Shepard and adapted himself quickly to this profession. After years of perfecting his skills alongside other PDR companies throughout the Midwest, he ventured out and formed his own company in 2012.

As a family company, he asked his son, Shawn, to join him in this business venture. Therefore, his son trained and learned all the aspects of the PDR profession and decided to join American PDR, Inc and work as a father-son duo. They have been working full time together for the past 3 years.

    Auto Hail Repair FAQs

What is Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)?

Paintless Dent Repair is a non-invasive method that removes dents without sanding, fillers, or repainting. It preserves your factory finish and is often the preferred repair method for hail damage.

Can PDR fix hail dents of all sizes?

Most hail dents can be repaired with PDR as long as the paint is not cracked or severely stretched. Larger dents may still qualify depending on depth and access points.

How long does hail damage repair usually take?

Minor hail repairs can be completed in a few hours, while heavier damage may take one to three days. Timing depends on dent count, severity, and panel accessibility.

Does insurance cover hail damage repair?

Most comprehensive insurance policies cover hail damage and allow you to choose your repair provider. We assist with the claims process to help ensure your estimate reflects the true scope of damage.

Will filing a hail claim raise my insurance rates?

Hail is considered a no-fault weather event, so claims typically do not raise your rates. Your insurer can confirm how your specific policy handles comprehensive claims.

Is PDR better than traditional bodywork for hail damage?

PDR is preferred because it keeps your original paint intact and avoids fillers or repainting. It also helps maintain vehicle value and often results in faster turnaround times.

Can PDR remove deep or sharp dents?

Deep or sharply creased dents may still be repairable depending on metal stretch and paint condition. A technician inspection is the best way to determine eligibility.

What happens if hail damage is left unrepaired?

Unrepaired hail dents can reduce resale value and may worsen over time due to temperature changes. Insurance may also limit future coverage if existing damage is not addressed.

Do you offer mobile hail and dent repair?

Yes, American PDR, Inc. provides mobile service throughout Missouri and travels nationwide during storm season to assist with large-scale hail events.

How do I know if my vehicle is a good candidate for PDR?

If the paint is intact and the metal is not severely stretched, your vehicle is likely a strong candidate. A quick inspection can confirm whether PDR is the best option.

Can PDR repair dents on aluminum panels?

Yes, PDR works on aluminum, though the process can take slightly longer due to the metal’s rigidity. Results are still excellent when performed by an experienced technician.

Do you provide free estimates for hail and dent repair?

Yes, we offer free estimates for all hail and dent repair services. Estimates can be done in person or on-site through our mobile service.

What tools are used in Paintless Dent Repair?

PDR uses specialized rods, lights, and precision tools to gently massage dents from behind the panel. This controlled process restores the metal to its original shape without disturbing the paint.

Can PDR fix dents caused by door dings or minor impacts?

Yes, PDR is ideal for door dings, shopping cart dents, and other small impacts. As long as the paint is intact, these dents can usually be restored quickly and affordably.
